HopeChest, Here it is, Wish I could recall where I got the recipe.
Mojitos

makes 1 cocktail

one Serving

10 fresh mint leaves

1/2 lime, cut into 4 wedges

2 tablespoons white sugar, or to taste

1 cup ice cubes

1 1/2 fluid ounces white rum

Place mint leaves and 1 lime wedge into a sturdy glass. Use a muddler to crush the mint and lime to release the mint oils and lime juice. Add 2 more lime wedges and the sugar, and muddle again to release the lime juice. Do not strain the mixture. Fill the glass almost to the top with ice. Pour the rum over the ice, and fill the glass with club soda. Stir lightly, taste, and add more sugar if desired. Garnish with the remaining lime wedged
I muddle the heck outta the lime and mint. Use top shelf silver rum and top quality cub soda and of course clear hard ice. I have tried many recipes from various sources and ths ione is easy and delicious
and this is by far my fave.

Summer beer from a local brewery. The artwork on the can is better than the beer, but it is still decent.

At long last I found myself a 1st Ed. Uh-Oa bowl (and at a good price no less!) so I inaugurated it with my best attempt at its namesake cocktail based on the menu description.

Served it up alongside some grilled sesame-lime wings and shishito peppers.

Wow, I was actually pretty close, I just used an extra 2 ounces of rum.

for National Rum Day I sipped on some Dagger rum. CHeers!

Aviaton Cocktails-Yum!

2 oz gin
1/4 oz maraschino liqueur
1/2 oz fresh lemon juice
dash of creme de violette
flamed lemon peel for garnish

Preparation:
Pour the ingredients into a cocktail shaker filled with ice.
Shake well.
Strain into a chilled cocktail glass.
Garnish with a flamed lemon peel.

Definitely thank your brother - that's a pricey bottle and the most expensive gin I have in my bar. It's good for sipping. Also try Uncle Val's Botanical Gin, and if you can get it, St. Augustine Gin. These three are capable of converting non-gin drinkers to gin drinkers for life.

Couldn't agree more, Love Uncle Val's and Monkey 47. Like Uncle Val's mixed with Tonic and Monkey 47 in a Gin Martini, can't get any better.

Last Word Cocktail
Equal parts in a shaker;
Gin
Maraschino Liqueur
Green Chartreuse
Lime juice
Big scoop of crused ice.
Shake em up and pour into a chilled coupe. I use 3 oz. of each ingr. to make two fair sized drinks

Saturn Cocktails are a very tasty way to get your Gin fix too but I don’t think a dry gin will do justice to this cocktail. I use a botanical.

Saturn Cocktail
1 1/4 oz Gin
1/2 oz Lemon Juice
1/2 ozPassionfruit Syrup
1/4 oz Falernum
1/2 oz Orgeat

Blend with a cup of ice until smooth. Pour unstrained into your chillerd vessel of choice.

**** can someone please explain if there is a way to prevent photos from turning sideways when they are loaded into TC? I am not tech savy, barely figured out how to get the photos on here let alone them getting flipped. Thank you

I have found that, when using my phone, I take my picture AFTER I make sure the phone has detected the angle I'm holding it. Then it should take the photo, save it to memory, and then also properly display it and export it in the orientation which you intended. So --

  1. I first aim the phone at my tiki drink so the phone is facing squarely in the direction of the subject material.
  2. Then I quickly turn (re-orient) the phone to ensure its sensor registers my new and desired "up" and "down" orientation and then I take my photo.

Hey thanks guys, not sure how you flipped the photo here on TC. Those images dont show up at the wrong angle in emails and such; i dont get the computers haha.
Will double check when i am snapping a pick to see the orientation. Thanks for the heads up!

Rum Pot

A "Middle Eastern" Cocktail I made up to go with last night's Lebanese dinner. Pomegranate Juice, Grapefruit Juice, Lime Juice, White Rum, Cardamom Rose Syrup, and Club Soda garnished with Cardamom Candied Apricot, Dried Rose Petals, and Mint

Having spent the previous 3-day weekend on a Rum-purchasing road trip, rendering this:

I spent Friday night preparing Honey syrup and ginger syrup, and cracked open my bottle of JE Fassionola (which arrived Thursday), and spent the weekend drinking Cobra's Fangs.

Unfortunately not photographing them, just drinking them.

Haven't been drinking much the last few years due to high blood pressure, but now that it is down I celebrated a bit with a new bottle of rum (EH Navy), a new book (Smuggler's Cove), a drink mixer (really hated cleaning up the blender), and a Navy Grog (Smuggler's Cove variation).
