Last night I tried a drink called "Honeymusk" I found on Kindred cocktails. I had just finished making some pineapple gomme syrup and was anxious to try it in a cocktail. The rest of the ingredients looked interesting as well.

Overall, a good cocktail, but for some reason the pineapple got a little lost and I began to taste honey syrup instead of pineapple (perhaps this explains the name).

Ingredients
1 oz Jamaican rum, Smith & Cross
1 oz Lemon juice
3 / 4 oz Pineapple syrup
1 / 2 oz Cynar
Instructions
Shake, strain, up, coupe.

The Island Queen, a newly unearthed "lost cocktail" from The Mai-Kai's 1956 menu not served in many years.

Check out the story behind this descendant of an old Don the Beachcomber drink, plus a tribute recipe ...

I'll play!
A tikicoma, and no I didn't name it after my user name, it was the the other way around (I first called it a sneaky tiki but found out it was taken).

With friends :) Kind of a Waikiki Mai Tai or a Happy Talk Lounge (Princeville) Bali Hai cocktail.

The ingredients. (Post horrified comments now).

Yum :)

Working on a tribute to a very obscure lost classic ...

The Mai-Kai's version of the Suffering Bastard, inspired by Trader Vic but totally different.
