Maleko join the club LOL
KonsTiki welcome! Over the years we've had lots of members from Australia and a few from Great Britain but not too many from the rest of Europe

Never mind me. Just hanging out with my Creature friend.

I suspect I forgot to introduce myself when I registered back in 2022, so Aloha all.

I've been collecting Tiki for a few years along with another close friend (we middle-aged guys more or less spur each other on) and learning more about the culture.

I have a few things I haven't been able to identify and have asked about them, but I am not interested in their "prices" or flipping them. It's more an OCD thing, or an investigation thing. I find most of my items by thrifting, usually for less than $4 each - the places I go don't seem to value tiki items very highly.

Anyway, glad to find the site, and I do also enjoy the work happening over at mytiki dot life.

Welcome! Feel free to ask as many questions about identification as you want.

For everyone else here's a link to Holofernes mytiki.life profile:

I don't think I ever made a post in this thread either. I got into tiki about 2 years ago after reading Smuggler's Cove. I was into making classic cocktails and was looking for new sources of inspiration, so I got the book and fell in love.

I've found myself to be an obsessed collector of Tiki Bob's from Bali Ha'i at the Beach NOLA and really really into finding my ideal Navy Grog rum blend.

I am an American living in Japan and lucky to get to visit TV Tokyo and Kobe's Kazan Room.

Welcome! Classic cocktails were may gateway to tiki, too. Looking forward to checking out your YouTube videos.

I'm planning on a trip to Japan in 2025, primarily to visit the World's Fair, but Trader Vic's Tokyo is also a high priority.

I think we're new members! Or new members again. Been reading Tiki Central since at least 2008 when we were searching for opinions on Trader Vic's rum...back when we were living in central Oklahoma.

Introduction (clearing throat)- Aloha, here we are on the Mississippi Gulf Coast since 2010. Our fav local Tiki is Latitude 29, but that's still an hour away. Most recent Tiki trauma was our very disappointing first visit to the Kon Tiki in Tucson (how sad-that's a whole other post/rant) in April and our next upcoming will be a return trip to Trader Sam's Grog Grotto in June. Unfortunately, we can't make the Hukilau (bucket list).

Welcome, or welcome back (whichever you feel is most appropriate) 2SufferingBastards. I think you'll find TC a little slower paced than it was in 2008 but there's still good folks and good content here. Looking forward to your contributions!

Hi All!

I made some posts under the username "Hattrori Hanzo" a little over a decade ago, but I've never stopped viewing the site and learning from it. I figured I'd pick a new name and since I'm a huge Jules Verne fan, I went with something at least nautically inspired this time around. I'm not sure how much actual posting I will be doing but I would like to contribute what I can and help keep this great resource alive.

I'll be starting off with a question, however I will post that in the appropriate thread. I hope that you are all doing well and thanks to everyone for all the great information over the years.

Eric

Welcome back! I can rename your old account and move your last two posts to that account if you want.

Leevi,

Thanks and yes, please do!

Eric

Hello Tiki people.

I'm an artist living in WA state. I've recently been renewing a long-standing casual interest in Tiki, and want to learn more about the history and engage in the current culture of it.

Welcome TinyUmbrella!

Thank you! :)
