Aloha TC, My name is Eric aka “SeekingTiki” I've been hovering for a while and have been enjoying reading all about everyone. My better half vwtikigirl has been keeping me in the loop about what’s new. After meeting a few of you at our local digs and at Tiki Oasis 4, I can no longer be a spectator and decided I must participate! I have been into the tiki scene and hawaiiana for most of my life. I remember the 70’s, using tiki swizzle sticks, brought from Hawaii, as light sabers for my star wars action figures. (It hurts to think what I did… but hell I was just a kid.) My neighbor used to bring me back mugs and swizzle sticks from all the tiki bars they visited, mostly Hawaii and Vegas, man what I wouldn’t do to have a few of those again… Now in my 30’s I am happily married with one child. We enjoy fruity beverages, great music (APE etc.), and we collect Munktiki, Bosko, Tiki Farm, and Vintage mugs and we are always looking to trade, sell or buy mugs. Well I think I have rambled enough about me… |

Just wanted to say "hello" to everyone out there. I live in San Diego. We need a tiki event in SD. We have the Bali Hai, Mister Tiki's, Trader Mort's, the Half Moon Inn and Bosko. Has potential for a great weekend. |

Wow, this is one of the best and informative message boards I've ever come across regarding one topic, all that is TIKI! Looking forward to learning as much as possible and as quickly as possible from all of your posts. Now, as a start, I think I need to schedule a day trip to Chan's in Jersey! Enjoy perusing the past posts - there are so many interesting topics here - and we look forward to seeing more of your own posts in the future. If you instigate a trip to Chan's, I'm sure you'll have some interested takers. Sabu |

Hi there everyone! :) I love all things tiki, and vintage 40s and 50s decor. This is 90% of the style I design in primarily. I am in the midst of starting up my own business, in which I will only focus on retro-decor (home accessories). I am really excited to meet other people with similar interests here! I signed up in order to make new friends, with a similar passion for tiki. I would love to meet new people, both online and in person! So lets luau! :D I just wanted to say hi, and blow tiki kisses! ~Lenore |

Hi everybody! I'm Jason, I've been a SoCal boy all my life (born in Long Beach, raised in OC), and I've loved tiki for years. I just stumbled into this place after a friend pointed me to Cherry Capri's site (how awesome is she?). Everybody is really friendly and informative, and I'm already caught with the infectious spirit here. I love photography and old cars (especially woodies), and I'd like to move into shooting tiki related stuff as well. Also I'm into digital art and 3D modeling and animation, and I just might have to create some virtual tiki's (has anybody else ventured into this realm before? I think the anachronism inherent in using state of the art computer hardware and software to delve into such an ancient medium is delicious :) ) At any rate, I'll post more when I have some actual work to show, until then, I'll just bask in all the glories of tiki present here! Cheers, [ Edited by: VayVay on 2004-06-17 00:39 ] [ Edited by: VayVay on 2004-06-17 00:40 ] |

Aloha, y'all... My name is Brian Poust from Atlanta GA, a long time fan of our own Trader Vics but have also visited some other fine spots in the US, most notably The Tonga Room in SF though that was some years ago. My main thing is tied into the Mod tip but my girlfriend and I both have a healthy obsession with 50s/60s decor and the insurmountable lure of tikis. Mostly musical in nature, my other online hobbies include researching soul music from the state of Georgia, and serving as Music Editor for http://www.uppers.org - Your guide to the pleasures of modern living. Happy to be here! |

Greets, My name is Ron, a.k.a. Chairman--due to an incident involving a couple of bottles of sake, a karaoke bar and the song stylings of Mr. Sinatra--and I'm hooked on Tiki and the whole retro-Cocktail lifestyle and my patron saint is Hilo Hattie. I'm a nearly-native Californian (moved here when I was 3), currently residing in the beautiful San Fernando Valley. I look forward to hanging out with a crowd where I'm not likely to be the only one in an aloha shirt. :) -Ron a.k.a. Chairman |

Aloha, I'm a newbie, recently relocated from Florida to Nashville, and hopefully the next promotion is Hawaii. Omni Hut is great and so are the local antique/retro shops. For rockabilly fans, Nic Roulette from The Blue Moon Boys also moved here a few months ago, the new band is The Hilbilly Casino. They play at Mercy Lounge and Wolfy's on Broadway. Is anyone in Music City? -Todd |

Hello all, Greg here. New to the tiki thing, but enjoy all things with a history that are a little bit left of normal. Just started collecting tiki mugs but am quite ignorant on it. Having fun though. Have been collecting beer stuff from the state of Rhode Island for the past 25+ years with my dad. Oddly enough all of my hobbies have to do with alcohol.......there must be a meaning in there somewhere. Maybe it's because we're BOSox fans up here. Anyway, have enjoyed looking over these forums over the past couple of days. Neat site. |
