PTD: Thanks for posting those pix - it's an amazing group!

WOWz! What a hard worker you are!
Can't wait to see that Elroy ArtSpace piece finished!
Curious as to what it will become!
:)

Little Lost Tiki here's my progress on the Elroy Artspace painting. I got permission to use three of McTiki Tiki Designs. The Fourth tiki is in our kitchen nook, it is the one on the left. I don't work as hard as you do.

My sketch for the painting, which changes over time.

My mom loved razor blades. She started me playing with them when I was five. I've used them ever since and look how nice you can make a stencil.

This shows where I've started to paint a dent in the words where the boards come together.

Blocking in where the tikis will go. Thank you again McTiki!
The art show is in Portland Oregon. There are Lambretta's in Hawaii. Artistic license by putting them both here. Mystery.

The blocking is really a negative of how they will look when finished. I have a good start on one.

So check out McTiki's carving thread he's got more to show.
Thanks for following my thread, Wendy

Wendy,

That Lambretta piece is looking cool! I'll also have a painting in Scootiki! Can't wait to see yours done!

That's so awesome Wendy!

I am beyond flattered, and yes, I recognize all 3 of them. One isn't even completed yet lol. Guess I better get him done before this painting is finished.

I feel like Steve Martin when he found his name in the telephone book in the movie "The Jerk".

Great work guys- Looking forward to seeing the finished Lambretta art. You can check out the screen print I did for the event in here somewhere. Are you coming to Portland for the show?

Thanks CY. I would love to go to the show but Portland is a far off land. I think my art will have fun being there.

McTiki your designs are perfect for my painting. Here's an update as of this morning. One tiki at a time! Wendy

Grog you are wonderful. Based on what you have done here I have re-designed my painting idea to include a hula girl. What the man wants the man gets.

The Tiki Crate has the worst glug glug problem we have ever encountered.
The turkey basters were the right idea but the ball didn't have enough strength to pull out the slip. So we bought a gasoline siphon and it worked great except for the times it came out of the jar and I pumped slip onto the floor or squirted it on Dan and I. In the end we had four decanters come out of the molds all fine, that was a first! Wendy

The pump.

The set up. As soon as I emptied the slip down to 1 inch Dan poured out the rest and then set the mold upside down to drain the rest.

We make a huge mess every time. So there are lots of bowls, screens, jugs, tubes, clothes and hands to wash after each pour session.

I love watching my man mop! Wendy

He he he he, Wendy

Wendy, you are resourceful as well as beautiful! :D

Makin' progress!

What Mike said! man! What a quiver of Forbidden island mugs!
and the Elroy Art piece is moving along beautifully!
Like the detail of the Lambretta sign where the boards meet together....
What attention to detail!
It creates a more solid world for the viewer
and BOY! What a cool world you create every piece!
Givin me the urge to start my offering for that show...
been slackin....
Thanks for the motivation and inspiration!
and give Dan a big hug!
He is the Man behind the Lady
and you two and your combined teamwork
create the most amazing art!
and your workspace always ends up
clean as a whistle!
Incredible...

:)

THANK YOU MDM I COULD NEVER HEAR THAT ENOUGH.

LITTLE LOST TIKI KEEP YOUR FINGERS +'ED FOR ME THAT I CAN GET IT DONE.

TODAY I TOOK A NOSEDIVE FALL DOWN 13 STAIRS. I MADE AN ABRUPT STOP WHEN MY HEAD HIT THE BOTTOM TILE FLOOR. MY RIGHT RADIUS IS FRACTURED BUT MY BRAIN IS OK. XRAYS AND 2 CT'S LATER I'M HOME WITH MY ARM IN A SLING. NO CAST UNTIL THE SWELLING GOES DOWN. THEN 6 WEEKS TO RECOVER. BUMMER WHEN ART IS SUCH A JOY.

I HAVE PHOTOS TO POST AFTER I FEEL BETTER. HUGS TO YOU ALL, WENDY

PS 1 FINGER TYPING IS VERY SLOW

Sorry to hear about the tumble. Glad you're not hurt too bad, it definitely could've been worse. Heal quickly.

Wendy, are you kidding? 13 steps?? Were you grinding the rail with your new skateboard?

It would have be easier to count the ones you didn't fall down!

Very relieved to hear you did not do any serious damage or sustain any breaks.

Now you are learning yet another talent; typing with one finger, which I suspect has already been mastered by many who post on these threads.

Ami and I send our love and we hope you are better soon. Let us know if we can do anything or if you need any help.

Sending you love, hugs, prayers, and a speedy recovery!

Wendy,

When you said you fractured your right radius, I thought you were just throwing out some fancy math equations but apparently all of my past head injuries have rendered me a fool. Duh, swelling going down equals cast. Six weeks will go by in no time...

See you Tuesday!

Oh no! Wendy, we're so sorry to hear about your fall. We wish you a most speedy recovery.

Take care & don't be too proud to use those pain meds!

YOU GUYS ARE SO WONDERFUL. ALL I'M DOING TODAY IS READING HERE AND FACEBOOK AND TAKING PHONE CALLS. I WAS SO AFRAID OF SOMETHING HAPPENING BEFORE THE FORBIDDEN ISLAND PARTY THAT SINCE IT DIDN'T I'M NOT SAD NOW.

TORBOR64 HOW DID YOU KNOW THAT I WOULD STAY AWAY FROM PAIN MEDS JUST TO PROVE I'M TOUGH. WELL THIS TIME IT'S HOW MUCH LONGER BEFORE I CAN HAVE ANOTHER?

PTD, NEVER ANYTHING BUT WORDS OF RESPECT SHOULD COME YOUR WAY. DURING MY JOB I ALWAYS ASKED HAVE YOU EVER BROKEN OR FRACTURED A BONE? IT'S LIKE TAMATO AND TOMATO, I'LL TRY TO BE THERE TUES. SO I CAN TEASE YOU!

LLT THANK YOU FOR THE PRAYERS AND ENCOURAGEMENT. WHAT IS THE LAST DAY FOR HAVING THE SCOOTIKI ART TO JOE? I WILL EVEN TRY TO PAINT LEFT HANDED IF I HAVE TOO!

LOVE YA ALL, WENDY

S

Oh Wendy, you poor thing. It's a good thing it wasn't any worse. Wishing you a speedy recovery.

So sorry to hear about your mishap, Wendy. Wow, that's some major suckage. I'm relieved to hear that your injuries were not more severe. Get better real soon.

THANK EACH AND EVERY SINGLE ONE OF YOU FOR PERKING ME UP. I LOVE SHOWING DAN THE NOTES AND THAT EVERY ONE KNOWS HOW LUCKY I AM TO HAVE HIM. WE ARE LUCKY TO HAVE SUCH GREAT FRIENDS. THE WHOLE WORLD WOULD BE A BETTER PLACE IF THEY WERE ALL TIKI PEOPLE LIKE YOU. I REALLY KNOW THAT I WAS INCREDIBLY LUCKY TO ONLY HAVE A BROKEN ARM AND BRUISED SHOULDER. ALL OF YOU BE CAREFUL TOO, HUGS, WENDY

I HAVE DECIDED TO TRY TO LEARN TO PAINT WITH MY LEFT HAND. I USE BOTH WHEN I WORK CLAY SO IT IS WORTH A TRY HERE. THIS PAINTING SHOWS WHAT I HAVE DONE WITH MY RIGHT HAND FROM NOW ON I WILL DO IT WITH MY LEFT. (: WENDY

Diggin' the new one, spiffy painting!

Diggin' the new one, spiffy painting!

THANK YOU SNEAKY TIKI.

I HAVE FOUND OUT THAT I CAN PAINT WITH MY LEFT HAND IT IS JUST SLOWER. IT TOOK TWO HOURS BUT I FINISHED ANOTHER TIKI. I'M SO HAPPY. THANK YOU ALL FOR YOUR ENCOURAGEMENT. CHEERS, WENDY

That's DISGUSTING!!!! Wendy, you paint better with your LEFT hand than most people can paint with their RIGHT!!!!

Very good Wendy, I'm thinking in 100 years this painting will be highly sought after because it was done in Wendy Cevola's "left-hand era" :D

M

Wait, how can you paint with your left hand, hold your right hand up and take a photo at the same time?

Wishing you a speedy recovery from Maui! Your Bowl will hit the kiln this weekend so I can mail it with Scott's.

You are amazing!

DARN Wendy,, Didn't you see the "NO Diving" sign at the top of the stairs? Really Sad to hear this news, late as usual, but the GOOD thing about it is you get some rest you needed.

DEAR FRIENDS YOU MAKE THIS SO MUCH EASIER WITH ALL YOUR FUN AND SWEET NOTES. I GET TO HAVE A METAL PLATE PUT ALONG THE RADIUS BONE ON MONDAY AND THEN I'LL START THE ROAD TO RECOVERY. I'M STILL PAINTING WITH MY LEFT HAND AND WHILE SLOW I'M HAPPY TO BE MAKING PROGRESS. HERE'S WHAT I DID TODAY. LOVE YA, WENDY

WOW, THANK YOU TO THOSE WHO VOTED ME TO THE COOL AND CURRENT LIST. THAT WAS A VERY NICE SURPRISE. TODAY I DID THE OUTLINE OF A 1961 LAMBRETTA SCOOTER. THEN SINCE TOMORROW IS MY BIG DAY I'LL BE TAKING A BREAK. I HOPE FOR ONLY A DAY OR TWO.
I'LL BE BACK SOON, CHEERS, WENDY

Good job on the scoot!! And the tiki you painted with your left hand has a better texture than the right hand ones....maybe you will paint with both hands in the future! (and knowing you, you will do it at the same time and paint twice as fast!!)

Good luck with the surgery...
