It's a good thing Dan and Wendy got outta Florida. It has been 20 degrees warmer in my hometown for the last couple days, but we are warming up at the Mai Kai so we are making the best of our situation. I hope the weather is better where they are :)

LoriLovesTiki I took a total of 1541 photos and had to buy a new card to fill up. I was sad that I missed taking some photos because mine had filled up.

VampiressRN so many that I'll have no problem posting until I have more steps completed on my art. We had a blast in Florida and on the cruise. Dan was a star on the ship and I bought the cruise video to prove it! Polynesian Pattie and his wife Barbara made the trip very special. We made some new friends too.

hang10tiki we did our best and returned home injury free. Not so for two women on one of our excursions. One slipped in sun tan lotion and ended up with a compound fracture of the arm. Dan and I were off in the jungle portion rather than the mineral pools so we missed helping her but others did and she left in an ambulance never to return to the ship.

Thank you all for keeping this thread alive while we were gone for 17 days of fun in the sun. It was almost as exciting as your posts. I've now seen some far away places. Up until now I'd just been over the boarder to Mexico and Canada. This took me farther away than ever before. Dan went to South America and Italy before we met. I'm trying to catch up with my guy the world traveler.

While we were gone YOUR show had 36,093 views. I think the guys show is a hit. Thank you so much. I'm going to copy all the photos and save them with the trip and in my photoshopped file. I don't want to lose track of all this fun.

Thank you verbally and for hang10tiki and Tiki Ano I'll be figuring out a prize for the two of you because you worked hard to make this time really fun.

Thank you all so much for the messages and Welcome Backs. We are working to get back on schedule. I'll be doing our trip in sections. I worked last night and today to find the best photos to share. Here goes.

We booked a couple of days in Florida to visit our friends Benzart and zerostreet. What a treat. But I'll back up to packing first and then off we go.

Dan likes it cold and I like it hot so I took an electric blanket and two extension chords to the Caribbean. I still froze with it on high. Without it I would have turned blue.

On the plane Dan found a tiki for sale in the magazine in the seat pocket.

On our way to Benzart's home we visited a rest stop on the freeway. Wow that's a lot of stalls. More than in California.

My first hug from Ben after knowing him as a friend for 10 years.

I borrowed some photos from his portfolio. He's done amazing tikis for a long time.

This is his garage workshop.

His work exhibited in a car dealership.

He did many tikis for the Tropicana casino in Las Vegas.

This Benzart tiki is now in front of Frankie's in Las Vegas.

It takes a lot of tools to carve both wood and stone. He's got them.

He's the best no matter what he is doing.

I love tools, here's a collection of tips for sanding and detail work.

He had a couple of clubs that needed to be checked out for balance, no problem.

He has an electric compression chisel and he let me use it on his project. I loved it.

Ben is special and a dear friend. His art is legend. Ben you rock.

Yesterday was another catch up day with bills etc.. Then I worked on the creature mug. After that time flew and I never posted. So here comes the photos none of which are photoshopped because I don't have the skill. I try to find something fun to photograph and it always ends up being Dan. I must love the guy.

From Ben's home we drove straight to the Mai Kai. It didn't open for an hour so we took photos around the perimeter.

Dan did his best to imitate this statue but his tongue wouldn't cooperate.

When lunarvideogames was at the Mai Kai he bought the last head of Dan mug so

to have a photo we did our best to recreate the image. Dan said the fun part was having his ear warmed!

I continue to find bathrooms that impress me. The Mai Kai's was terrific.

In the bar we saw that people had autographed the lamp shades at each table so we added our names at the bottom.

Benzart told us to look up his friend Keir the manager of the Mai Kai. We had a very interesting visit and we praised the Mai Kai a true tiki museum.

We wandered around the back garden for over an hour and enjoyed every minute.

Look who showed up. Polynesian Pattie and his wife. They also had dinner there. They joined the cruise so we could have a fun time together.

Here's a photo done with a flash and

a view of a similar tiki without the flash. This shows how the garden really looks like at night.

Dan had a bright idea, let's call it a night and have more fun tomorrow seeing zerostreet.
