My grandmother gave me this so long ago I can't remember, But he's a little Tiki matchbox holder. He was given to her in 1967 & he came from New Zealand there was also another little guy with him but he got lost somewhere along the line. I have fond memories of those two little Tiki always sitting on my grandmothers display ever since I can remember, I was always drawn to them. and now to find out there at least 40 years old is realy cool. I also have two muggs I found three years ago they have a made in the Philipines sticker on the base but I cant make out the hand written number on it, any ideas about these anyone ? My local pet shop has some Moai about 100 -150 milimeters tall for fish tanks. will check the price soon & mabey get some. cheers all, Chippieleigh.

Tiare, I think those may be Western Airlines swizzles but I can't tell from the angle they're at.

Looked like a Tiki to me. I found out it's an ELZAC Bonnet Head fashion pin, circa 1940s.

It's a Tiki. Isn't it?

BIG BIG Wahine Score for me!

Nice score. These were fairly common, being produced for the tourist trade, and came in a box with cover art and a little brochure. The one i have, which looks different form yours only because the tapa piece for the sail is cut from a different section of the print, was used for a photo shoot in Beachbum Berry's Sippin Safari. When i get a chance, i will get the info on the box for you, the box which is currently residing in my storage unit.

That looks like an older Outrigger to me.. There fairly common you can buy the boxed kits still but mostly you see the ones in the bags like in the picture, similar but a little smaller for under 10 $$. My guess would be well-made home-made on the green guy. The flat bottom and smaller size are the clues. If a mold was made of an existing "peanut" mug, the product of that mold will be smaller than the original due to the shrinkage of the slip clay as it dries. Really nice glaze, though. That's a keeper!

Well, I think this was a killer find.
Always wanted a copy of "Oceanic Art" by Anthony JP Meyer. Searched EBAY but they always seemed to finish at crazy money & then the shipping! I'm talking the single copy BTW. So- I searched Amazon & found one in "acceptable" condition for cheap! I'm talking $24.75 plus 3.50 shipping. I buy & then wait. And I wait. After about 6 weeks, I get an Email from the seller. He tells me the copy he had after further investigation- was a pretty shabby copy w/ torn pages & a damaged spine. He said he didn't feel right selling me this one so he was sending me another- in a slipcover w/ 2 volumes in like new condition for same price.
About a week later it shows up.
Are you kidding me? It's like brand new! Book is pristine & looks like it's never even been looked at.
Pretty good score if you ask me. And..... for under 30 bucks!!!!

..this is not an aquarium item ...i wouldn't put it in a tank. it was a votive candle holder produced and sold by spencer gifts a few years back....there is a separate base that came with it that held the tea light candle in place..they came in neon orange and blue.....i think they sold for less than $5 new....
