Here's a couple of recent finds. I got pretty lucky on the ship's wheel. The "tiki" is a bit of a mystery. For unknown reasons, I thought it was a "knock down" piece from a carnival. But there's not a mark on it. There is a hole in the back of his head. Maybe it's why he looks so unhappy. Any ideas? Nancy |

So Duane (Psycho Tiki D) and I lucked out and have crossed paths with a super chill guy who is selling off his late brother's tiki/Hawaiiana/collectibles collection. We spent a few hours today at his place talking tiki and about his brother and I have to say it was one of the most enjoyable Saturday afternoons I have had in a loooong while. We are going to also be helping the fella sell his stuff too--but Duane will post about that later. Out of this first haul Duane got some really great stuff and I did pretty well with common mugs with a few rarer ones thrown in. All in all...yeah today was pretty awesome! Now...for my booty! Orchids of Hawaii bowl, Hawaii Kai skull, earring guy from Zombie Village, Kona Hawaii in Santa Ana, CA Not bad for 1 day!! |

Man you aint seen nothing yet!! Just keep your eyes peeled for Duane to get home and take pics of his first haul. He got some killer stuff also. Needless to say this guy's brother was a huge collector that no one on here got the pleasure to know. Today was killer and really it was amazing. NorCal tikiphiles unite! Rick, Nice scores at Brimfield, especially like the Witco and dude, I still haven't mailed out your mug, I am so sorry, but it has been a killer week. To add to Liz's comments...because Liz mentioned this to our new friend, today was one of those days you might have once a year. His brother was a long time collector of hawaiiana and tiki and we only saw a fraction of what is going to be sold. More of that in Tikimarket place, but suffice to say we haven't even scratched the surface yet. I thought I had seen it all and I was so wrong. Special mahalos to our host, his wife and children for letting us invade their space on a Saturday. I had the best time discussing collecting and the person who owned this remarkable collection. I spent more today than I have in awhile but I think it was well worth it. Todays finds...
To make a little bit of my $$ spent today back, I will be selling the Bosko mugs! Don't know much about other than they are pricey! It is ok, the old owner knows!
Long day, staying home tomorrow! Later, PTD |

After the great stuff I found this week, I stopped by my local hotspot, today to see what they had. I prolly shoulda gone straight home. As many of you know, when you have other people looking for you, they don't always make the best choices & sometimes ya gotta take the good with the bad. Here's today's stuff. |

I found these today in a small thrift store, I suppose they arent really "tiki" , but I think they are cool. They were still in the box wrapped in crumbling tissue paper and the little brass cigarette holders still have a "handcrafted" sticker. All 4 are stamped with the Lego logo and say copyright 1960 on the bottom, 3 of the 4 also have the Lego sticker. |

Had some great luck in the Atlanta wilds for once.
The S&P set amuses me, because while we have a local Trader Vics, I'm pretty sure we've had the orange (newer) shakers for quite a long while.
*I bought one, hipped my buddy to another (which he bought), and left one (a shot mug) to be found by other folks. |
