witco pieces are pretty hard to find around here so i jumped on this even though all but one of two of the figures are missing arms.
it is 3 feet high and does not have the casters on the bottom.

My computer was down and it was too much of a pain in the ass to post from my phone/Kindle so here's a catch up post of stuff I found since my last post(In no particular order)

7 foot by 15 foot tapa piece

It has some cool rose motifs:

3 foot by 9 foot tapa

It's got some great geometry gonig on there

3 foot by 4 foot fiji tapa

12" by 18" tapa

My grass looks way better since those photos, after those couple rainstorms rolled through. Bring it El Nino!

Plaster marwal tribute hula head:

took the dog a few nights to figure out she wasn't real:

Unfinished Guam carved wood stand thing. Guy told me it was for Pan American Airlines. He pretty much gave it to me...

even though I didn't want it. My sympathy buy.

1965 Paradise of the Pacific magazine

Leeteg ad when you open it:

didn't hook up the scanner yet so here's a blurry copy to read

A bunch more cool period ads and an article on Leeteg in it

Small big lots ETR tiki:

Pair of Hilton Hawaiian Village mugs

The price tag said "tiki" on it so I bought it:

I think it's a real tall PNG guy missing something on his head

Everthing but the head on it is PNG looking

I'm looking for a small wall hanger to fashion him a mask

I bought a pair of plastic (old halloween mask thickness)tikis with cardboard supports. They looked manufactured that way. After I brought them home, I noticed they had contact paper on the foreheads. Zaya looked at them and said she could see a logo underneath in the right light.

I peeled one off and found it was a logo for Hawaiian Surf for men aftershave

Found a piece to a waka, but didn't didn't find the rest. Paid $1 for it just on case it turned up later in the seller's mess. I checked back with the seller for 3 weeks and no luck. I had him looking for it for me but he never saw it

Then a week later another lady had a parted out waka that almost matched my piece:

Everything aligned for me on that one. Now i need the other prow piece...

Favorite find was this really detailed 20" easter island tangata manu. It was mixed in with a pile of junk asian carvings

PNG wall hanger. I think a shell fell out of the mouth.

If not, I'm still adding a shell to the mouth.

Old hand sewn hula head band

Neat shell clusters all hand stiched on

More head gear. Are white fezzes for chicks?

12" diameter plain carved maori plate/dish

A trio of peanut mugs

Two are marked and kind of rare:

Island Heritage handled mug and a pair of Chiki Tiki s+p from jamaica

4 Harvey's mugs I bought for good luck, hoping the tiki find floodgates would open after a month long drought

Moai tissue dislpenser:

Daga bamboo mug and Trader Sam's zombie mug

Trader Vic's Lady Menehune stirrer stick end:

Until I find more...

Hi Wendy: That's the second one of these I've found in the last few months.

Funny I never saw one in many years of hunting, and then I find two-more or less back to back...

I also have a pair of these guys:

Back when I printed this year's picture, I took one right off the top and put your name on it for you. Then I locked in the vault for safe keeping. Even if my house burns down, you'll get your picture(Unless the fire exceeds 5000 degrees, that is.)It needs to be hand delivered. Hope to see you guys soon>

Buzzy you are one lucky dude. What about my jpeg? I need to keep the Buzzy Bedroom current. OK if you won't open the vault we'll try to make the March Marketplace. You better bring it! Wendy

PS good job on stamping the back of the peanut mug, I'm still not sure if that's a really rare find or you made it

A copy of South Pacific. Okay, cool and all. But then, what's that in the top right?

Ren Clark's Virgin Lament mug!! Unluckily, it's been broken and glued back together on the bottom. Luckily, it's been broken and no one else bought it and it was cheap!! I suppose they're fairly rare? I see none for sale on ebay, none completed and none on ooga-mooga.

I've been collecting Tiki stuff off and on for a couple years, mostly just a mug here and there. Since getting an actual kitchen to decorate, and a wife allowing me to do it, I've been taking the hunt a little more seriously. The following is a mug I found the other day at a local junk shop that was going out of business. I assume it's a knock-off though, since I can't find any reference anywhere to that torii gate design on the back.

Every year our local historical village has a Christmas event, at which they hold an antique and vintage sale. I picked up these two LPs for about a buck a piece.

And then I forget where I got this one from (might have been from the same historical village, from an antique/vintage sale fundraiser they did a year or two ago), but here it is...

In January or February I'm planning on ordering some more mugs (both for decor and a "mid-winter luau" we're thinking of holding :) ). Once I get those, I might post a few photos of our Enchanted Tiki Kitchen with that eye-splitting linoleum somewhere on the board here.

Every once in a while (every few years, really) checking my local thrift pays off. Among the ususal bric-a-brac I was stunned to see two Mark Thomas Outrigger mugs side by side staring back at me. I didn't have one, and now I have two! They really are a beautiful design.

Found these tiki bookends the other weekend at a local yard sale. They each appear to be carved from a single block of wood and just feel like they are from the 70's. I am sure they are nothing special...but they are a welcome addition to our tiki mug display.

Anyone happen to be familiar with these? I've searched the forum and around the web and have yet to uncover any bits of relevant info.

Thanks!

Wow there sure is a lot of good things being found. This whole page is outstanding.

TheBigT you can putty that back hole with Elmer's Wood Filler. Overfill it and let it dry for several days then sand. It will stabilize the damage.

Tyber Tiki we have been collecting for around 17 years. We just now found a set of bookends like yours to add to the collection. I think you have a good find there.

Cheers and Happy New Years, Wendy

Nice matchbook score Hang10! I'm glad someone else is nerding out on collecting variations too. Did someone have to die for you to get all those? Because looking at that stash, I hoped someday when I die that all my crap will make some collector super happy! Save him/her 10-20 years of legwork and looking.

This week's stuff
