Attached are pics of a carved wood statue I picked up today. It's about 12 inches tall. The wood feels soft (velvety) and is light in weight. Would anyone recognize where it is from or at least the style / origin it represents. Also could anyone hazard a guess as to the type of wood? Thanks.

this is Kaisers hawaiian village showing the kaiser dome, it was five bucks, when I took it to to the counter I saw it was missing a button so they sold it to me for two fifty!

I have been out of the TC loop for way to long. My commute to work has been eighty six miles each way every day now and leaves little time for the finer things in life. I did manage to find this gem though. Fantastic graphics and color. Measures 23 1/2" by 17". Found in a pile of window cards from a Buffalo New York theater. Set up shop at a Hot Rod show at Ralph's Diner in Worcester & scored this Ui Maikai aloha shirt, from the girl next to me, for 10 bucks!:

Set up shop at the Rumblers "Rumble In The Country" in Terryville, CT & made a deal with a friend for this Coco Joe's ashtray, I've been looking for for years & this Royal Hawaiian, barkcloth aloha shirt. I also found a few vintage Girly mags, most of which had, at least, some reference to the South Pacific.



My local hot-spot produced this Trader Vic's menu.

A late July trip to my local hot-spot had me returning home with this stuff. Anybody know anything about the Geisha Girl mug or the blue Poly-Art figure?

I returned home, yesterday, from a week on Cape Cod. I did very little hunting & expected to find nothing, but I came home with this stuff.:
These guys have a foil label on them that reads; Enchanto Company, Burbank, California. Anyone have any info on them? (Sorry, my camera sucks!)


A pair of Westwoods

This guy really has me puzzled. I don't know if he's home-made, some sort of display or maybe made by some design or furniture company. He has no markings & I'd really appreciate some help identifying him.

Last, but not least, there's a little beach that always has a bunch of horseshoe crabs. This time, unfortunately, I found no live ones, just a handful of deceased. Being the opportunist that I am, I scavenged these 3 that had already had their innards picked out! :D

Bongo - looks like the work of Totem Pottery of Port Orchard, Washington, but most of their pieces are marked with a stamp. . .

Hey Bongo Bungalow. These are Native Indian art 100%. These were also produced at a couple different places here in Canada and were sold at gift stores all over. There are lots of different pieces that had these faces and then were hand painted on them. Plates, bowls, mugs, shot glasses, S&P's, ash trays and lot's of other items.

I actually like the design. A long time ago I bought a mug that was the same design and scratched off all the paint and it looked pretty good (until I dropped it!). Close to looking like a Tiki but just not!

Found this cool boat shelf for my mugs.


I need to sand it down, and make it a bit more "tikified" but that will have to wait for a bit until I move.

This is one of my dogs, also eager to sail away to a new house soon.

Been awhile. I just decided to load up for one mid-year find post, since nothing too exciting has popped up round these parts recently. Found this, I love the brooding colors, it's got a very smugglers/pirates feel to it, very large 4' x 2', great original frame too. $15.00

This is about 8 months worth of finds, the nicer lot of it at least. The framed painting is actually a print. The artist is Harly Brown and he is known for western themed pastel work. Just curious if anyone knows more abouth this specific image. Curious if it gives off that tiki vibe to others, your two cents is welcome. Thanks

Been laying low the past couple of weekends, but I did find a couple of things here and there. Not going to post my usual suspects...

Found a few items that were duplicates I sold to the person who got me going with the whole "American Tiki Culture" obsession. Found four scorpion bowls in his neck of the woods and he ended up with the Orchids Volcano bowl and the large Trader Dicks Outrigger bowl...


2'+ wooden carved tiki, this one survived a fire. The back is burnt!

Very happy to have found this and I almost missed it...Tepco "Sea Life" scorpion bowl!



I think this paddle/war club is from Samoa, but I am still looking for an example that is close. Please help be smarter because of tiki if you know the origin of this. Nearly 4' long and very heavy. Seller mentioned Fiji and WWII, but I am not sure because of the color of the finish (although the carvings are filled with white ochre). Looking at the discoloring, it appears to have been used as a paddle at some point?

Stopped by a few local places on the way home from work on Friday and found a few matchbooks, including one from my hometown Don the Beachcomber in Santa Barbara.


(I have been to 5 of these places)

Two Harvey's bucket mugs, one with the different lock lettering that you don't see very often

Three Daga bamboo mugs from different Hawaiian restaurants.

A Libbey jagged tooth and a small Westwood.

Here's what I found Today:

I don't know what it is. I'm not convinced it's Tiki, but I'm guessing before its finish wore off, and became chalky, it could have been a cool bowl insert with some 151 burning in that bowl. They resemble those Trader Vic's salt and pepper shakers in what looks to be their original color and size etc. (4 inches tall, 5 inches wide)

Does anyone have a clue as to what this is?!?!?!

I got this vintage PNG storyboard today - it's almost four feet wide and over two feet tall. I need to research these more so I can follow the story:

The gondolier guy has some paper stuck to him, which should be easily removed. Other than that, the condition is great.
I've only recently gained an appreciation for PNG stuff, but now I have the bug.
