Tik David...love the exotic dancers. I don't have much of it, but I'm a GREAT fan of gravel art!

S

Oh be still my beating bird bowl. I can't wait to find that in the wild! Its my holy grail!

Hey Miss Dee, Tell me more bout this bird bowl and I promise you I'll keep my peepers open for one down in the L A area or anywhere I might be. It'll be yours when I find one (disregard what I promised if this bowl costs me more than 2 bucks).
David

On Tiki David's shelf...Steve Crane bird bowl. I love it (and I want it)

S

went down south to drink...er...see my friends and bought a few things out and about

My wife was 'thrifting', and came home with these long-necked guys. She'd carried them around for a while, trying to decide whether I'd consider them to be worth the $8/ea price.
"They looked kinda funny, but I remembered you had one that said, 'Don the Beachcomber', that looked similar. I just wasn't sure if they were 'tiki' enough for you."
The clerk noticed her hesitancy, and lowered the price to $6 each. Score one for my wahine!

 Posed, flanking my DtB short neck mug

Nice finds there Limbo Lizard...congratulations to the wife on that score.

Been a tough year in these parts. Lost my Dad in February, my son-in-law last month and I am two week recovery from back surgery. Trying to stay positive through the challenges.

Some recent finds. Good to be able to get back out there and actually focus.

Does that The Castaways - Las Vegas list any other locations? It could be the missing link between the other location.

gabbahey

Nope. Just Vegas. I have another Castaways Vegas matchbook that lists a Los Angeles reserveation line. Other than that, nada.

Buzzy Out!

I was happy to win the bid on this Kahiki ashtray for a whopping $5. Nobody else bid on it probably because it was described as a khaki ashtray. It needed a lot of cleaning since it appeared as though somebody had used it to throw gum away. I'm very happy to now own something from the Kahiki.

LIL MORE...

TRADER DICK'S SHORT MOAI

I love this thread. Great Finds everyone.

In an antique store on Wednesday we found two of these shell bowls. We bought them because they said SAM'S on the bottom. We hope they are from Sam's Seafood in Huntington Beach. Anyone seen them before?

WOW! Is it a thin porcelain or something to let the light through?
Would love to see it aglow.

OK ,upon further inspection it is thin porcelain, and it seems the little notch in the bottom of the top section,is for a electrical cord to pass through, and the base perfectly holds a
'Dept.56' light,with a metal clip.Snaps right in.
HERE YA GO,

G

Very nice, I want me a couple of those.

gabbahey

Me too.

It's 12 feet? Or did you mean 12 inches? With those aboriginal designs, maybe it's a didgeridoo?

Bear

Thanks Brudda,
I gotta stop typing with my thumbs- It's 12 inches and don't call me a braggart.
