Maybe not truly tiki but i has that vibe to it. The scrapbook items inside were 40+ years old so I have no idea where he got it or when. We took the papers out and I plan to use it as a backdrop on my shelves to set the mood, so to speak.

Maybe an occasional mug in a thrift store, or a MCM ashtray. Today, at an estate sale not a quarter mile from my house (which I almost skipped because these are filled to the gills with western/rustic chic baubles) I lucked into quite a find. I walked into the open garage and immediately spotted a folded section of... tapa cloth!? Oh, my, yes! It was in terrible condition from being folded and stored poorly, but the pattern's cool and it's the first real bark cloth I've ever found in Texas. The estate sale people considered it garbage and gave it to me for $1. Still not sure what I'm going to do with it, but I have ideas. Inside the house I found some more stuff, like this 2' carved Ku from Hawaii: A set of molded bamboo serving trays with a vintage map of Hawaii printed upon them: Some Maui place mats that look to be products of the 80s: And a set of round playing cards from the defunct Aquarena Springs, which isn't tiki at all, but a cool find from what was once the top tourist destination in the U.S. (my university now owns the property, and while the amusement park is long gone, the iconic glass bottom boats are still running):

Was able to get a bit of info. from Cavemoai, he said similar to your sentiment, that the mug looks to be cast from the Hawaiian Village Nui Nui. Possibly from a local ceramics company. Has a 63 and RLW (or a combo of those letters) stamped on the bottom.
