I arrived here on Saturday afternoon and yesterday (Monday) we went to Bisbee in Arizona and i found all these in the two antique stores that were open. Pretty stoked and i still have 3 1/2 weeks here to go including a huge road trip after the Hukilau. Hopefully i'll find some more goodies along the way.

Great finds! I'll have to start taking tiki-only pics of my antique store hauls; right now I tend to take one photograph of everything I get, which usually includes vintage toys and children's books too. Love those Trader Vic's S&P shakers!

Found these in a Palm Springs thrift today. Pretty beat up and missing a cap and both wicks. Should look cool after I clean em up and wire em up with “flicker” bulbs.

I finally found a personal holy grail mug I have been searching for for years. Not particularly rare and be had on eBay easily. I like to find them in the wild. The find is always sweeter that way :D

SilverLine found this wall hanger that is similar but not spot on to one I have. Part of a set of two. Mine are made of plaster as well but do not have any markings. The big guy is 11 1/2" tall. Most likely mine are hobby pieces.

Nothing off the hook, yesterday, just an Orchids Of Hawaii R3 & a little, carved Tiki. The Tiki's got some age to it, but the only marking is 887 on the back of the base. Anybody have any thoughts? Probably a late '60s-'70s tourist item.

Found a few things at a couple of antique stores on this leg of my holiday including this.

There were another two that were slightly different, all the same price, but this is the one i liked the best. I know i have seen a thread on here with something similar which i'm sure the thread author talked about repainting it. I tried a few searches but couldn't find anything. Does anyone know the link or what these type of busts are from or the story behind them? There is no markings on this particular one but one of the others said 'Holland Mold' on it.

Great find on the Polynesian Girl. The best ones are made by Marwal. Here's a pic of one I have. I have seen a few different molds of the same basic design.

Yesterday I found a Langerman's Luau salt shaker at a local flea market. I initially hesitated buying it because it was not a complete set, but then I found out that even a single one is a pretty unusual find, so I went back today and got it.

They also had a Trader Vic's salt/pepper shaker there which is normally a non-event, but it indicated it was used as a movie prop in the upcoming "Dear Eleanor" movie which was shot locally. Without a COA it's more of an interesting tidbit than anything else, but it certainly makes me wonder what the setting was in the movie, which is supposed to take place in the 60s.

Excellent find TT. Besides being probably the coolest Tiki shakers around, I have never seen one before from Langerman's. Rather surprising since their signature mug is based on the same design as your Salt/Pepper shaker.

Although those moai SP shakers are common with the Trader Dick label, yours is probably the original version made for Langermans. Glad you went back and got it!!!!

The mystery continues...
I was hoping that yours would be the other half of the set for the one I found, but that doesn't seem to be the case.
Mine has just "Luau" on it, so the other must only have "Langerman's", yours has the full name.

(Also, they both seem to have two holes and thus be for the same spice, I'm thinking salt. So there's still no pepper.)

Any one know what this thing is? Another one my mother sent me as a birthday gift. She said the guy she bought it from at the swap meet said it was some sort of hard to find bicycle accessory, but she couldn't remember what he told her about it. It's an obnoxious little bugger, lights up with a steady on, strobe, and cycling flicker. Talk about tacky tiki, but I get a kick out of it... :)

The light up green tiki was originally part of the Dyno Von Franco beach cruiser. It mounted on the front fender. You can find them online now as they are being repopped by Nirve.

I've tried researching the company and got nowhere fast....

Why would someone professionally frame pieces of a hawaii shirt?

I didn't pay much for it, so I'm not mad...just have a bunch of questions that will probably never have answers...lol

One of them had all the info on them taped to the back but I can't find the photo of it anymore. Can't remember the company either. It was a Xeroxed flyer from the company explaining how they were screened.
I sold it at the Mayflower Tikiyaki show, but I can't remember who I sold it too. Anyone out there buy that print with the paperwork from me? If so, can you post the flyer from the back of it.

I think the painter is John Webber, however, we are more familiar with engraver, sculptor, "grapher" Charles Grignion's work.

If I remember right, Webber was the artist on Capt Cooks 3rd? voyage to hawaii....

Its an iconic image that many people have painted, engraved, silk-screened, etc

But all the ones I found and researched, none of them had the "keone of hawaii" printed above the mountain like this one does... except for the shirt.

I'm still thinking its either from the shirt or they made material bolts you could buy....

found the 2 1/2” x 5” copper relief plaque at a local thrift. Also grabbed the album cuz my wife thought the art on the cover was 60’s cool.
